Christians believe that Jesus, God in human form,  showed us what God the Father is like. He lights up our understanding of God's love; and so lights up our lives as we follow him and seek to live in God's ways and bring his light and love to others.

The candles on the table remind us to receive God's light and walk in it. The candlelit evening Christmas services especially remind us to receive God's light in Jesus and take it out to others.
