November 11th is Armistice Day. The Sunday near this date is called Remembrance Sunday
and we take time to remember all those who suffered or died in any of the wars.

into the two minutes silence at 11am.

'At the going down of the sun and in the morning we
will remember them.' This remembrance banner displays the traditional
words that Les says as he lays the wreath.
War Memorial
|
We fondly remember
Jack Halls who suffered badly after being
captured in the war. He was forced to help build a railway and was ill treated by his
captives.
His Christian faith gave him strength and forgiveness. It helped him to be kind and
loving to all people.
Every year we also say the Far Eastern Prisoners of
War Remembrance prayer
And we that are left grow old
with the years
Remembering the heartache, the pain and the tears
Hoping and praying that never again
Man will sink to such sorrow and shame
The price that was paid we will always remember
Every day, every month, not just in November.
We Shall Remember Them

|
This is an example of our Church
notice board for Remembrance Sunday.

Although we seek to remember and
caringly honour those who died, suffered or are suffering as a result of
war, our service tries to focus on the greatness of God's saving love for us
through his Son.
