Services

Sundays @ 10am

Our family-friendly services combine worship, prayer, liturgy and teaching, and provide something for everyone.  We share communion in the morning service at least once a month, we have a special Healing Service once a month, and our All Age services are great for children and families.  Unless it’s an All Age service our young people go out to their own groups, and you are welcome to join us in the hall after the service for refreshments.

Preaching

Although Revd Andrew Fordyce preaches most Sunday mornings, we have a number of lay preachers in the church who regularly preach too.  The sermons for our All Age services specially aim to be accessible for young people, while still challenging those of more mature faith.

Liturgy

As you come into church you will be given a service book, which contains all the words we say together during the service.  This is taken from the Book of Common Worship.  We have large print copies available at request.

Prayer & healing

We pray each week for issues around us, from our local community to world events.  We also have a Prayer Tree in the far corner of the church where you can write your own prayers, and we offer prayer support after every service.

Once a month we also do a special healing service, where we offer to pray for healing, whether it be physical, mental or spiritual.  This is completely voluntary and on your own terms, but our Prayer Ministry Team would be pleased to pray with you.

Worship

We usually have a worship band, with a rota of various musicians and worship leaders.  We include both modern worship songs and traditional hymns, and on a typical Sunday you’ll see people playing piano, guitar, bass, drums, singing, and sometimes we have cello or violin too.

All words for songs are displayed on the screen at the front of the church.  Large print copies of the words are available on request.

Communion

We usually have two communion services a month, at which we remember the amazing sacrifice Jesus made for us on the cross.  If you are confirmed, or if you normally receive communion in your home church, you are welcome to receive bread and wine with us.

For young people

Creche (ages 0-4) meet on the stage in the hall.

Young Church (ages 4-10) meet in the hall.

GAP (ages 10-16) meet in the Committee Room in the hall.

Sundays evenings

Evening services allow us to focus on God at a more reflective pace, whether that’s in our 4:30pm New Horizons service or the 6pm Extended Praise (featuring longer periods of sung worship).  Again, all are welcome to these services.
